The house of the von Richthofen family today

A devoted visitor of the Jasta Boelcke website - Mario Barneche from Argentina - send me two recent pictures of the house of the von Richthofen family. After the information of Mr. Barneche,, the house is located in Swidnica in Poland which was called Schweidnitz at the time it belonged to the German Reich. The house of the von Richthofen family is located at the corner of the Slowacki street and the Sikorski street (formerly Striegauerstrasse). Todays number is 19 but at time the von Richthofen family lived there the number was 10 of the Striegauerstrasse. The house is today owned by Polish State who rented it to 6 families living there now. The families are supposed to be mainly workers.

World War II did not affect this house because Schweidnitz got evacuated by the Germans without battle. After the war, the Polish authorities was not aware of the persons who lived there before the war broke out. People from the Eastern Polish border moved in and the history of the house was long forgotten until 1994. If you got more information regarding this house I would appreciate it to hear from you soon. Please contact me!
